Not sure I'd credit a story for bringing about faith in people. Too reductionist and not realistic given how ambivalent and critical most folks are. More likely than not is the opposite. Faith chases people down - overwhelming evidence everywhere. I.e., perfectly functioning systems in the physical, chemical, and biological world don't just come about by accident and randomness - there is underlying intelligence. I'd recommend C.S. Lewis' books if you are looking for greating writing on this topic. Mere Christianity is one of my favorites and totally opened my mind on this subject.
